President Mahinda Rajapaksa hailed the historic win of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as the first elected President of Turkey in a congratulatory message that was tweeted from his account. “Congratulations to the new President of Turkey Recep Tayyp Erdogan,” the President tweeted. Turkish Premier Erdogan secured a historic win at the country’s first Presidential election held on Sunday cementing his role as Turkey’s leader for the next five years.
